Our pastor

Reverend Michael D. Smith, Sr. is a graduate of C. F. Vigor High School and the University of Mobile, where he earned a Master of Arts in Theological and Biblical Studies. He professed his call to the preaching ministry and delivered his initial sermon in April 2003.

Since announcing his call to the gospel ministry, Rev. Smith has faithfully served in various leadership roles. He served as a youth minister at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of Rev. Gregory Thames, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Saraland under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Drakes, and at Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Mauvilla under the leadership of Dr. Alphonso Brady, Sr. In October 2025, Rev. Smith was unanimously confirmed and installed as the Pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Mauvilla.

Rev. Smith is a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Ingrid LeRoice Smith, and a proud and doting father to their three children, Michael Jr., Genesis, and Taniyah. While many know him as an avid fisherman, his greatest passion in life is preaching and teaching the Word of God and serving as a “fisher of men.” He is deeply committed to changing the culture of this world by introducing men, women, and children to Kingdom culture through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
